Project Concept

An Arabic news website — homepage, article, search, login, and signup. The currently released version is fully static, despite a separate historical branch that once connected to a local mock API.

The homepage in two sections, an article page in two sections, a search page, and a login page.

My Role and Decisions

The repository has a separate historical branch (api) that once fetched data from a local mock server (localhost:4010), but the current main branch reverted to a fully static version. When building the Docker image, I deliberately built from the static main branch, not the old API branch — because reviving a dependency on a local server would have broken the release image’s fully offline preview requirement.

Technical Aspects

A static site (no build tool) with RTL Bootstrap, Font Awesome, and Swiper — no API connectivity in the released version.

Project Value in the Portfolio

This project demonstrates a deliberate choice of the correct branch for release (static) instead of reviving an old external dependency that would have violated the offline release requirement.
